Can Rabbits Safely Be on Hardwood Floors?

I think many rabbit owners wonder if it's safe for their furry companions to roam on hardwood floors. There are some considerations to keep in mind.

Rabbits have delicate feet that can be sensitive to hard surfaces, potentially leading to sore hocks or discomfort.

Hardwood floors can be slippery, increasing the risk of injury or falls for rabbits, especially if they have difficulty with traction.

Providing rugs or mats for traction and ensuring the floors are kept clean and free of sharp objects can help mitigate these risks.

Curled up rabbit

The reasons why rabbits curl up can vary. In the case of my rabbit, Cinnamon, my experience is that he sometimes curls up in the following conditions:Not hungry, Not thirsty, Feeling relaxed, Not making loud noises.

Sometimes rabbit is curled up and sleeping. The curling up enables rabbits to conserve body heat. Moreover, curling up may provide rabbits with a sense of security.

Regardless of the above reasons, I love to see bunnies curled up because they are adorable!
