Rabbit ears are sensitive, helping them to capture sounds from their surroundings. Rabbits can hear really well. For example, when my family comes home, my rabbits notice it before I do.
Rabbits utilize the blood vessels in their ears to regulate body temperature. On hot days, they can dilate these vessels to release heat, while on cold days, they constrict them to conserve warmth.
I sometimes check the temperature of my rabbits by touching their ears and necks. The direction and movement of their ears serve as a means to express emotions such as excitement, interest, or wariness.
